Why the loud noise

Asked by Kia2015ls May 25, 2019 at 03:19 PM about the 2015 Kia Optima SX Turbo

Question type: General

I purchased a 2015 KIA Optima turbo brand new with only 80
miles and I take this car on a regular oil change around 4000
miles. About 2 years later the car started making loud noises
if the car sits longer then 8hrs. I took it to KIA dealership
regarding the loud noise but they weren't able to fix the
problem but recommended that we use the manufactured oil
filter from this point forward to try and reverse the issue. The
car is reliable and I live the sporty look it's the noise that's
getting worse by the day and driving me crazy. I am
contemplating on trading it in for a different car since I can't
getting any real answer.

There is no way I could diagnose a non specific noise. Until a mechanic can hear the noise it will remain a mystery.

Look for an exhaust leak, or even excess condensation collecting in the muffler or catalytic converter. Otherwise you need a mechanic to look it over as FOR suggests.
