Getting ready to replace my alternator on my
Chrystler 200 at 83000 miles battery kept
dieing had to get jump lat time couldn’t go
over 30 miles an hour and all dash lights
came on will this fix the problem or is this just
a temporary fix to a larger problem

Battery loosing a charge is not always a bad alternator . You could have a voltage draw draining your battery. When you remove the alternator also take the battery in with you to have it tested and fully charged while you have the alternator tested. Both must be good to not screw up the internal voltage regulator inside the alternator. If the good battery is drawing down and the alternator is good do a draw test to find the circuit causing the draw. .
