Wierd sounds are hard to diagnosis even when you hear them let alone just on a thread like this, but do the basics, check the fluid, is it full and bright red, if not have it serviced, if they do find metal in th tranny pan then you know you have a tranny that isn't long for this world, a code check might also,be in order and look for any transmission codes, possibly a shift solenoid problem or even something as simple as a partially restricted filter in the tranny itself.
