Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 89 dakota 3.9 v6. I filled up with gas one
day came out and went to start up and it just
cranked and cranked never did start. I checked the
fuel pump, timing, and coil and plugs wires, destrib.
Cap and replaced pick up coil. And it lost all fire
anf fuel to it and still wont start. Could it be the
ECM (computer)?

perhaps you are onto somethin'...but I'd start by the Voltage going to the ECU/Chassis...perhaps there is "brown" power getting to your ECU...these things practically NEVER fail...but POWER has to be an easy 12 or 12.5 steady volts~ examine the ground connections to the chassis and to the motorblock too...wirebrush the battery clamps and other end that connects to the motor for SOLID power~ a NEW battery would not hurt either~

get a tester on the power to the ECU...and TEST~ becha it's insufficient...on the Ground side~

a lot of times bolted dis-similar metals will actually WELD themselves...creating an unreliable connection...you're smart...taking away the bad stuff~ horrible thing...gloves and safety glasses~...no one really wants to do that...but possibly will be a way out of your difficulties~
