Battery terminals reversed

Asked by Johnny Aug 06, 2019 at 05:52 PM about the 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I hooked my terminals backwards on my 87
trans am and I just want to know what kind of
damage that causes. It still starts and runs
but the voltage gage goes up and down

1 Answer

Maybe you dodged the bullet and only need a new voltage regulator or alternator. You can have the alt. tested at your local car parts store.
