Inner cv axle rig

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello. So I just ripped out my front diff and
now both cv axles are hanging. I had a
problem with the driver side flopping
around and hitting everything, I need my
truck but don’t have the parts yet ( I’m
replacing it all). I looked around and found
out it’s not a good idea to drive without the
inner cv and lock but to hold the hub
together.... so my question is. Has anyone
cut the outer cv shaft from the inner cv
shaft and lock nut.... I’m looking to just
drive around in 2wd but don’t know how to
break lose the pivot arm from the inner cv
shaft? I want to keep the piece that holds
the hub but get rid of the other crap that
goes to the diff. Any suggestions?

My suggestion is to not drive it unless your life insurance is paid up.
