Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello, I have a 2014 Honda accord lx and my oil life is at 50% at the moment
but i checked my oil with the dipstick and it is just below the second hole or
whatever you call it lol  It is low. Should i wait it out to when it's at 15 or 20% or
add oil and change it in a few months? I don't know what oil brand they used.
Would it be bad to mix oil brands? thanks :)))

Always keep the oil level near the top. I recommend changing oil every 5,000 miles with synthetic or every 3,000 with conventional oil. Mixing brands is not a problem. The oil weight is in the owners manual and probably on the oil filler cap.

Using the recommended oil weight, fill it and begin to change it based on miles driven, as FOR suggests, or if it gets to 1 year since the last time you changed it. Don't rely on the "oil life" indicator for anything but a secondary reminder.
