Why does my car takes 5-7 seconds as the engine is cranking to turn over?

Asked by Larry Pratcher Sep 02, 2016 at 11:45 PM about the 1987 Cadillac DeVille Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Before my 1987 Cadillac Deville actually catches and the engine turns over its
revs for 5-7 seconds, I was told that i may have a problem with the Fuel
Pressure Regulator, or that something may be clogged in the line that leads to
the Fuel Injected cauberator, Can you you give me some idea of what it may
be?

That is a Cadillac problem as far as I know. I've owned nothing but Cadillacs since I was in my 20s, and they ALL did the same thing yours is doing.
