97 bmw 740I blue smoke when engine is cold

Asked by Mar 11, 2015 at 04:29 PM about the 1997 BMW 7 Series 740i

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When engine gets warmer stops smoking

1 Answer

Blue smoke is oil. Now please know that I don't know very much about BMW's, on most cars I would say leaky valve guide seal(s) and oil is leaking in to combustion chamber, then burning off after a few minutes
