How do I get brighter backup lights

My backup lights are very poor how do I get brighter backup lights

First thing to do is to check the socket for full voltage with a meter. If the voltage is good, make sure you have the correct bulbs installed. You can also go to the dealer and see if the other VW's like yours are the same.

Have a 2013 Passat the back up lights are small and anemic .....
