Make sure the connections are correct. Make sure that battery is rated for your car.If they are, get out the car arm the alarm, then disarm the alarm and try it again. If none of these works. Start checking fuses

Hi Natasha, I know this post is old but I found out that when the electrical supply to the car is disrupted the memory settings in the computer are effected. This can cause issues with the radio and other functions that were originally memorized in the database. You can have the original memory settings restored at the dealership.

Just took my 2014 Soul to the dealer and same problem. They said it was a circut that controlled several things. After testing them all (@ $150/hr) they landed on the radio causing the parasitic battery draw. The price to replace the radio $5K +. Seriously!!! I've seen this issue pop up a lot on the Kia Soul forums. Has anyone had any luck getting Kia to foot the bill?

In my case, the main fuse has blown up and it disabled the power steering also radio fuse has blown total came up to 460$. I hope it helps.
