code is coming on for MAS it was replaced and still RPS are jumping, it was fine before the machianic put some b12 in the filter area
QUESTION HELP!!! my mechanic put B12 cleaner in my Nissan Altima 06 air intake and
also took off the plastic hosing and sprayed some in the medal part with the flap thing,
without my permission and as soon as he did that the car had a hard time breathing and
with in 2 min. the rpms are jumping at 20 instead at 7 to 10.....he replaced the max airflow
sensor 3 times with brand new ones it is still giving the code to replace and still jumping
only when I'm in park and sometimes when in drive but with the brake on......someone
please tell me what i can try to fix this issue. thank you. i also changed the filter.
Did he reset the computer after the replacements? If not it needs to be done then drive as you normally do so it can relearn your vehicle and the way you drive, this usually takes about 20 minutes drive time, during that time if the check light comes back on then it stops learning as there is a hard fault in the system. There is an actual mass air flow cleaner out there and as you use it with the sensor cold it won't harm even the "hot wire" sensor.
he did reset the computer checker that he got the code from, if thats what your talking about? and i did drive it so it could relearn, still nothing, what do you mean hard fault?
A hard fault turns on the check engine light. That sounds like he just cleared the codes, he needs to do a full reset.
Depending on why it's doing this it may need to be programmed. you can get the dealer to do a zero throttle re-learn, idle air re-learn and other things to get the idle down. may also have ruined the throttle body but have to get it checked to be sure. the code for mass airflow doesn't mean to replace it could be wiring, ecm, etc.
