Clean the battery terminals and replace the battery if older than five~ Also ground cable to frame connection, and to motor as well~

whats the voltage on the batt

supposed to be 14.5 (while running) or 13.5 volts and survive a dead short for two seconds using a destructive load tester (destructive, is the battery ain't healthy enough to survive it)

the date has to be less than ten years old or it is scrap, no two ways about it...you cannot duck time.~

degrade 10% per year (ability to accept charge) after ten years you are up to NO capacity for recharging...got it?

went through a couple of distributors on my 95 GLE, an oil leak laid waste to their electronics, one miscalculation it had was to fire on the intake stroke causing bent piston rods....the engine never sounded smooth after the second distributor~
