*** RE-Written Question *** Getting Transmission Service on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V6 @ 125K miles

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Please read carefully before replying.Thank you.

I bought a certified used 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V6 from a
Jeep dealership in December of 2015 with 75K miles. I know have 123K.

I've gone back and forth on whether to change the fluids on the
transmission, transfer case, and differentials.

As it's a sealed system (no dip stick), the new fluid needs to be
hydraulically pumped in, measured, forcing the old oil out. I consider this a
"FLUSH". I don't believe there is any other way of just changing the fluid??

I'm wary of having to do a flush at this point as I've heard various opinions
about doing so. MOST have said that being I haven't done anything since
owning the Jeep, there aren't any leaks and I'm not having any issues, to
do nothing... that actually doing so at this point, might cause more harm
than good.

I just wanted to to get some more opinions and further feedback from other
Jeep (Cherokee) owners from their experience. Thanks!

To change the fluid all you do is drain the old fluid. If the oil pan does not have a drain plug you have to remove it to drain the oil. Skip the flush, just do a standard fluid and filter change.

How do you put new fluid in with a sealed/closed system? There is no dip. Please explain.
