2005 neon will start fine but have to keep foot on gas until temperature gage reaches 1/2 between cold and hot

Get the codes read at the parts store. It's not reading the cold temperature so it's not making the fuel mixture richer for cold operation.

sounds like to temp switch for computer went bad, on engine
