Air conditioning

Asked by James Aug 14, 2018 at 11:18 PM about the 2008 Land Rover LR2 HSE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A/C had been taking a while to get cold, but usually just the first time starting
each day, takes about 5 minutes then works well. Then today after a little ride it
lost the cool air for a while. Then after stopping then restarting it was perfect
again.

You may want to have the refrigerant level checked. The AC can only cool the incoming air so much. If you start out with the interior of the car at 110 then it will take a while before the air coming out of the vents feels cold.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll have it checked out when serviced in a month or so. But the problem doesn't seem to be continuing. Also, the car is garaged every night so it's actually cool in the morning. And now it's not taking so long to cool first time. Even after sitting in the hot sun it cools off right away. Not sure if the compressor was having a glitch or something there for a while, but all fine now. Weird. Weather here isn't terribly hot either.
