2006 grand caravan front dome lights wont work tried replacing bulbs

I replaced both front dome light bulbs and they still wont work. I noticed that the sleeve the bulbs go into before you install them seamed burnt and slightly melted

If it's melted you will probably have to replace the light sockets (sleeve) or the light assembly. Junkyard or ebay is a cheap way to pick one up.
