When I put it in drive the car starts going
backwards and when I try to press the gas
pedal nothing happens

Check your transmission fluid level. If that's ok it may be time for a new transmission. HTH. -Jim

sounds like your low on ATF ...//the cooler lines are know to leak on your vehicle...// so its possible that you have a slow leak and you have gotten to the point that there isn't enough fluid to apply the clutch packs
