my 09' G5 dead after recall completed...

my 09' G5 just had the recall for the ignition fixed about a month ago, and last week my
car stopped turning on. dead. the lights and music and everything else works but when
you go to actually turn  it on, nothing... took it to a small garage.. they say its a security
problem.. is it the new ignition? and do they expect me to pay for that??!! bad enough i
have to get it towed an hour to their shop.. called their service dept many times and no
response.... as usual....

Im going to trade it in when its fixed anyway... any opinions on 2015 scion tc vs 2015 corolla s? killing me to get a 4 door, fell madly in love with the scion.. but the corolla was nice.. and more practical i suppose for potential kids someday... cannot decide!!!


Have the car towed back to the dealer who did the recall work. If it's only been a month the repair should still be under warranty. Let them deal with it and pay for the tow. If they're not willing to work with you call GMs customer service department. They have a 1-800 number. It definitely sounds like a security system problem but I wouldn't let a small garage fool with it. HTH. -Jim

It very well can be the new ignition, I'd have it towed and have them access the situation. They should be paying for the tow and repair if it is related to the recall.

i also would only get about 4 months driving time with our weather here in eastern canada! for sure not a winter car

I hear ya Jesssssssss (how many "s" is that, dawg??) , Canada winters are brutal, big daddy!! Go with the Scion then...waaayyy cooler than the Corolla!
