2011 Chrysler 200, lights and everything work, but it won't start.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Chrysler 200 that I drove to the store without any issues. Once I
came out of the store, it wouldn't start or turnover or anything. The lights still all
work and the radio and all that are also working. Any help/suggestions is
appreciated!

Try placing the shifter in neutral then attempt startup. If it doesn't start, place it back in park & try again. If neither works, check the fuse panel(s) located in your cabin and under the hood (if one exists) Check all fuses related to the starter & starting system. If all fuses are good, check for relays also.If starter relays are present, look elsewhere in the panel for another relay with an identical part # on it and swap it in place of the suspect relay.Dont borrow a relay from a component thats needed for the car to run.IOW- dont borrow a fuel pump, pcm, ignition, etc relay since the engine wont run without it.Make sure your starter cable/wiring checks out its entire length and is tight at both ends.Sometimes a starter will give you a warning before it goes out,but alot of times,it does not & it just quits. There is also a safety switch that prevents the starter from turning over if the transmission is not in park or neutral, which can go out.
