Why doe the MPH say 22?

Asked by Jan 01, 2012 at 12:01 PM about the 2011 Hyundai Accent GL 2-Door Hatchback FWD

Question type: General

I just bought a 2011 Accent yesterday.  At the time of purchase it had 9 miles on it.  When I first started driving it the MPH said 12 and it has gradually gone to 22 which is where it is now.  Is this my gas mileage?  I bought the car because it said it gets 30 in the city and 40 on the HWY...I drive a lot for work.

Please let me know if this MPH is the gas mileage and if so why it's only saying 22?

Are you sure, you're not talking about total mileage?

Total mileage now says 200. Mph is slowly rising...at 30 now

25

MPH = Miles per hour, right? While MPG is miles per gallon.
