28mpg highway at 55-65 mph, city and or average driving mileage will be much less......I.e. 20mpg

I see where your model with 4 cylinder is listed as 28/37mpg. The over stated mpg per the company was only 2-6 mpg different than what was stated on sticker. Yours appears to be way off that mark. I would check with dealer about this issue I feel you might have something malfunctioning on yours. IMO

I bought my first new car last year, a 2013 Accent GLS and let me tell you, I have never seen a sub-compact get such poor MPG and I have never seen a company treat their customers so poorly than Hyundai. According to the dealership, "a lot of people" are having this issue and yet Hyundai has no answer except, sorry. Well, my formal complaint has basically gone nowhere and i just recently won an award at my local gas station for "the most fill-ups" for a sub-compact car. I have no idea how there are so many raving reviews for this car, or even the 2013 Elantra, as I have heard from tons of people with the same issues. I will NOT back down and I am very close to turning this in to a media frenzy. You hear my John Krafcik ? Your PR department said some things to me that I wish I recorded because they were way out of line. This car is a joke and I want my money back !

Last year i bought a '13 Accent GLS sedan with steelies and hubcaps. I was averaging about 32 combined with 45 on the highway. I had a friend who had the upgraded package with the 16 inch alloys. She would complain about the same problem as you, horrible gas mileage. I thought it was the way she drove. We then traded cars and as i was driving hers I couldn't achieve anywhere near what i got in my own car. 10 months later i was at the dealer getting a car wash and fell in love with the SE hatchback(it had the same 16's). I traded my car in and purchased it. I now have the same problem as you, horrible mileage for a 4 cylinder. I get a max of 36 on the highway 26 combined. I did some research online and found that lower profile tires get worse mileage due to resistance difference and the weight of the wheel also plays a factor.

I have a 2013 Accent SE Hatchback with the 16 inch alloys and it gets bad mileage as well. I can get at most combined 29 MPG even with long highway trips I can't seem to get over 29 MPG. I had a 2013 Accent GLS Sedan that got 40 on the highway as measured by gas receipts and odometer but had to be switched out due to transmission issues. I am regretting not keeping the GLS now.
