Charging the battery on a 2002 Cadillac Seville SLS

Asked by Rachael Oct 09, 2019 at 01:57 PM about the 2002 Cadillac Seville SLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I know how to jump start my car and I also
know where the battery is located under the
back passenger seat, but I'm trying to find
out the best way to charge a dead battery in
my caddy. By the jump access under the
hood or directly to the battery itself. My
father says under the hood but my opinion is
to go directly to the battery. This is just until
we get a new battery, btw ;) Thanks!

I would charge it from the batt. I'd even take the terminals off , if it's an old batt. that may not take a charge it may send power surges and affect the ECM.

I'd just wait to drive it until you replace the battery. Like chevy said, jump starting a dead battery over and over again is not a good idea.
