ignition coil packs

Asked by Jun 10, 2016 at 07:31 AM about the 2002 Cadillac DeVille DTS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was replacing the coil boots and spark
plugs in my car and ran into a problem.  I put
everything back together and found that the
bottom right bolt to the front coil pack is
striped. Is this going to cause problems? !
The coil itself is good, it's the hole in the
motor that's striped not the bolts. What do I
do?  Can this be fixed without costing a
fortune?

You need to secure the coil or you will run into misfire issues. Heli-coil is one option and not all that expensive.
