Differences in inlet/outlet radiator hose diameters

Asked by Aug 08, 2015 at 04:42 PM about the 1999 BMW 3 Series 323i

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need to get a new radiator for a 99 BMW 323i. They have different inlet/outlet hose
diameters though. 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 1-9/16???? Why????? I guess I have to pull the radiator
and measure myself before I can order the radiator. Why are there at least three different
sizes?????? Doesn't make any sense.

Where are you looking at the part numbers? It depends on when your car was built. Some are for after build date 10/98, some for automatic vs manual transmission, and wheather or not you have automatic climate control. Use this site to pinpoint what OEM part number to use and cross reference to the part sites....http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select....... you can input the last 6 digits of your VIN and get all the part numbers you need. I use www.fcpeuro.com for my parts.
