1995 Bmw 318ti for beginner looking to start wrenching?

Hey so looking at a 1995 bmw 318ti with 220,000 km on it..... how easy are
these cars to work on? Is it fairly easy to find aftermarket parts? And how
much longer could this car last?/ what things will need replacing in the near
future?
It already has
new starter
new idol air controller
new fuel injectors
new spark plugs
new air intake

hmmm ok.....well i have freinds who know a bit about cars... as for myself.... i can do a oil change...and thats about it :) are these cars easy to work on tho...? or are finding parts and installing them going to be a masive pain?
Why don't you search for parts online to see what you find? If all you can do is an oil change I suggest not working on a BMW. Friends that know a "bit about cars" are probably dangerous!
fcpeuro.com for parts. A 25 year old BMW will not be a good daily driver, just something to mess around with when you have some time as a second car.
If you really want a project Beemer I suggest a classic such as the 2002 from the 70's. They are great little cars, fun and they should be simple to work on.

The 4 cylinders are very simple engines, great engines to learn on. Heck, even the 6 cylinders are very easy engines to learn. They can require a little more attention, though. Parts are easy to find and they are easy to work on. FCP Euro carries just about everything you could ever need for a BMW with a lifetime warranty and good prices.
