Asked by Guru61WG5 Mar 23, 2020 at 07:53 PM about the 2011 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: General

76000 miles and The chain broke. The
mechanic said to put a different engine that
he has with 12000 miles and it would be
better because when the chain breaks the
engine is no good so he recommended to
replace the engine.. now he can't take off the
engine light and traction light. The code read
cam shaft sensor.. he replaced all of it and it
is still on don't know what to do now. The car
is in the shop still...

Check the wiring going to the sensor. Maybe it got damaged during the engine replacement. As for the traction control problem, same deal. He needs to be able to pull the trouble code out of that computer to see what's going on. On a side note, I wouldn't put too much more money into this vehicle. It's 9 years old and so many times I've seen people do a major repair like this to an older model thinking they're saving money and wind up with a boatload of troubles afterwards!! Hope that helps! Jim
