I absolutely love my 2021 Toyota Camry. From the moment I got it, I honestly fell in love with it. The car looks sporty and modern, but at the same time it’s very comfortable and smooth to drive. It feels reliable and safe, which gives me a lot of confidence, especially as someone still getting used to driving more often. The fuel efficiency is great, and the interior is clean and well-designed. Everything feels solid and easy to use. It’s definitely a great value for the price. If I had to mention something, I wish it had push-button start, but overall I’m extremely happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone looking for something reliable, stylish, and comfortable.

There are many Camry variations. I drove the TRD version. Fun, fast and practical. Because if you’re going to drive the kids to soccer practice, why not look a little cool doing it? Then have a little fun yourself after. Great car.

2021 Toyota Camry Price Trends
CarGurus tracks the prices of millions of used car listings every year. See how the average price of 2021 Toyota Camry prices has changed over time.
See more price trendsHow much does the 2021 Toyota Camry cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $22,077 |
| Year-Round Low | $21,001.10 |
| Year-Round High | $22,506.14 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $22,506 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −1.91% |
Prices have softened 1.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
With 3,368 listings available, you have a solid amount of inventory to compare across trims and drivetrains.
If you find a listing below $21,001.10, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2021 Toyota Camry a good car?
Yes — the 4.69/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The expert rating is 7.83/10.
The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Safety.
Drivers consistently praise the Camry for its smooth ride, great handling, stylish design, fuel efficiency, and reliable performance. Those strengths line up well with its practical midsize-sedan mission and make it appealing if you want a comfortable daily driver that still feels composed on the road.
The trade-offs are familiar: some owners want better interior quality, and the infotainment system and noise levels at higher speeds draw criticism. Even so, the Camry’s roomy cabin and broad powertrain lineup make it easy to match to your needs, whether you prioritize commuting comfort, family use, or a more engaging drive.
With 30.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market opportunity to shop selectively without feeling rushed.
Is the 2021 Toyota Camry reliable?
Owners rate it 4.69/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Drivers describe the Camry as reliable and dependable, and they also highlight its trouble-free, long-term appeal. That reputation is reinforced by the expert view that Toyota’s reliability has traditionally been one of the Camry’s most attractive traits.
The expert assessment also emphasizes that Toyota retains an excellent reputation for reliability, and the Camry’s practical design supports everyday use over the long haul. Toyota’s three-year, 36,000-mile basic warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty are average for the class, so used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance records and overall condition.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Toyota Camry?
At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for uneven wear, signs of bodywork, and any issues that might not show up in photos.
Focus on how the car was maintained, how the interior has held up, and whether the electronics and driver aids work as expected. If you’re comparing multiple listings, condition should matter more than small price differences.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: LE and XLE models get a cleaner grille, while SE, XSE, and TRD trims add more aggressive styling but also more visual clutter from fake vents. The base LE trim uses 17-inch alloy wheels, and the interior materials are described as low-rent.
- Powertrain: The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder is rated at 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet with FWD, or 202 horsepower and 182 pound-feet with AWD. The V6 makes 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet, and the hybrid delivers 208 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic is standard with the gas engines.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on XLE and XSE, but optional on LE and SE.
- Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, and SiriusXM. Higher trims add a 9-inch screen, WiFi for up to five devices, navigation, and a nine-speaker JBL audio system, while a 10-inch head-up display is available on XSE and XLE.
- Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder LE and SE return 32 mpg combined with FWD and 29 mpg combined with AWD. The V6 is rated at 26 mpg combined in XLE form, while the hybrid reaches up to 52 mpg combined.
Which 2021 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?
The 2021 Toyota Camry is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade Edition, XSE, and TRD.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The LE is the entry point, but it misses the more upscale feel of higher trims and keeps the simpler 7-inch infotainment setup. It also leaves blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as optional extras rather than standard equipment.
- Sweet-spot trim: The SE is the best value if you want a more engaging look and feel without jumping to the pricier upper trims. It keeps the efficient four-cylinder powertrain and can still be equipped with the key safety extras.
- Premium/top trim: The XSE and XLE are the best picks if you want the richer tech and convenience package, including the larger touchscreen, available head-up display, and standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
- Off-road trim: The TRD is the one to choose only if you specifically want the performance-focused setup; for most daily drivers, its firmer, sportier character is less practical than the mainstream trims.
Toyota’s safety package is standard across the lineup, but the LE and SE require extra cost for some of the more useful blind-spot features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Toyota Camry?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 3,368 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.91% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,001.10, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Toyota Camry's resale value?
The current average of $22,077 sits slightly below last year's $22,506.
That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to preserve value later.
The Camry’s broad appeal helps support resale demand, especially because shoppers continue to value reliability, efficiency, and practicality in this segment. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.69/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Toyota Camry safe?
The 2021 Toyota Camry earned a “Top Safety Pick+” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it also earned the highest five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), with five-star ratings in front, side, and rollover crash tests.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition. Toyota also adds Rear Seat Reminder on all trim levels.
Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on XLE and XSE, but optional on LE and SE. That means lower trims still give you a strong core safety suite, but you may want to prioritize a higher trim if those extra driver aids matter to you.
Should I buy a 2021 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.91% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.69/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2021 adds Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ and updated infotainment displays.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $20,565, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $22,077 average.
- It adds all-wheel drive and the TRD performance variant.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $23,562, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $22,077 average.
- It continues the Camry’s reliability, efficiency, and modern styling with broad trim choice.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated safety tech, strong owner satisfaction, and a still-reasonable market price, the 2021 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the better value play; if you’re willing to pay more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2022 is the next step up.
