We bought out 2010 outlander ES by owner. It came with tires P225/55 R18 and it's time to buy tires. The tire people say we should have 16 in tires but we have 18 in. Is it okay to have 18in?
Simple answer is yes. The Outlander came with 16" wheels and tires stock. The last owner upgraded to 18" wheels. The size you listed is very close to the diameter of the 16" tires, so I would replace all 4 tires with the 225/55 R18's. Is the tires shop reluctant to replace them? If so, find another garage.
No issue top use 18" rims - only issue is the tyres are more expensive compare to 16" rims
