Toyota camry check engine and traction light on

Sounds like someone should open the hood and start checking FLUID LEVELS......engine Coolant etc. Computers souild then be scanned for Trouble Codes which are intended to help with diagnosis of any issues. Let us know progress.

Hello 9HJ. What ever happened with the problems with this vehicle?

Listen, get the engine and coolant checked out! I need a new engine as a result of low coolant in my 2012 Camry!! I was keeping a close eye on my coolant miles at about 125,000 got it as a trade in for my 2007 Camry (which consumed oil). No more Toyota’s for me!! I’m stuck with this one for 4 more years I still owe $10,000 on it and a used engine is going to cost me $4000+. Long story on what happened but noticed low coolant a few months ago, got it topped off, brought into dealer sent home saying everything was fine, check engine light and traction light popped on, a couple weeks later the engine seized without overheating. Had it towed and coolant was found in the cylinders, had it also put on the computer at my visit prior when the car still worked and codes read a misfire in cylinders 2 and 3. Dealer says misfire due to coolant in engine. They could replace the head gasket but may not help the problem, bc coolant was not leaking on the ground it was leaking in my engine and also causing white smoke from my tailpipe which I noticed the day of the no start. I’m currently investigating my situation. All recalls were fixed on the vehicle. I’m wondering if the previous owner put the wrong coolant in the car? Does anyone else have a coolant leak that caused this problem??

Suggestion...Re.....engine seized. Remove all the spark plugs. Inspect for SP fouling. With fully charged battery installed....crank the engine over and note what comes out of the cylinders. If the engine rotates with a FCB.....the engine is NOT seized. Get back with results
