My car shut off with quarter tank of gas

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What's up guys today I experienced something with my G
that's Really bumming me out. I was driving on the
freeway with only 50 miles of gas witch is like a quarter
tank or less I drove around 19 miles round trip and was at
the exit of the freeway when I turned and came to a stop
my car shut off out of nowhere. I turned it on and it shut
off on me like 4 times. I had to turn it on and give it gas As
soon as I put in in drive in order for the car to move and
pull over. This happen once befor a while back but I filled
up the tank and the problem went away. This time I put
gas and the car sputters and makes a click noise, sounds
like it's coming from the top of the engine. You only feel
and hear these syptoms when the car is in drive or reverse
but when you put in neutral or park it's fine as well as
driving on the freeway. Driving on the street the car has
poor acceleration and have to put it on N when hitting a
stop. I've herd of the fuel filter being clogged or bad fuel
from the gas station I always put 91 chevron but today I
used shell idk if it's the change of gas or what but mind
you not I have a 09 G37 coupe and just reached 100k
miles on my car and have not done the 100k maintenance
job"HugeNoNo" but times are tuff and I'm low on income
rn and before I spend a ton of money I don't have I want
to get some help from you guys to solve this. So If anyone
can help with some addvice and tips that would be really
appreciative, Thanks and Happy Holidays! #infiniticulture

The fuel pump is not reaching the bottom of the tank, what you need to get is a universal sock that is installed at the bottom of the pump. It will pick up the balance of the fuel in your tank. It's somewhat of a big jod because the the tank will need to be dropped. If you don't have the money you will always need to keep the tank full.

Definitely sounds like you have other issues than running on empty. Check for codes! Get a full tank and check for fuel pressure. Not sure what you're clicking noise was, check regulator or purge valve maybe.

I checked for codes and none came up but there was 3 blinking signals on the top screen of the scanner. It was the ( O,C,EV) that were blinking and the yellow light was on indicating there was a possible problem. I did some research and those blinking lights are from the o2sensor, Cat Converter, Evap. I will put a pic below. And to be more specific about the noise it sounds more like a rattle coming from under the car maybe the Cats? I filled up the tank and the car has not turned off and it doesn't seem to be jerking as much but still does it when I'm at a complete stop and idles poorly.
