Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If it needs a fuel pump we cannot stop it from needing one but until you can get it replaced, you might be able to get the engine to fire quicker if you turn the key on and let it sit for 5- 10 seconds so the pump can prime up (it should stop pumping when a certain pressure is reached). Then try the starter.

You'd have to put a fuel pressure gauge on it when that happens before you 'probably " replace the fuel pump and " probably " pay $3,000** to the dealer and " probably " have the same problem

Thanks, and I prime it every time before fully starting engine and it starts right up. No problems once driving.
