Service Stabilitrak and flashing check engine light

Asked by Dru0482 Jul 07, 2019 at 02:15 PM about the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE1 Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra with 5.3L.  I was
towing a 4,000lbs camper.  After coming
through a few hills just before getting home
my check engine light came on flashing and
the traction control light also came on.  My
information center read service Stabilitrak.
The lights where on for a few seconds and
then went off.  After getting home (a few
minutes later) tried pulling codes.  There
where no codes stored and no freeze frame
information.  Anyone have suggestions?

Until it sets codes you can only guess. In the meantime I would check the spark plugs and possibly have the catalytic converter back pressure checked.
