slowed by itself, turned off to reset, now the car

Two possibilities: 1) It may be in "Limp mode" - where the computer has detected a safety issue and restricts usage. However, limp mode should let you drive at a slow speed. 2) I have a 2011 ML350. I had a similar issue which was caused by the rear sensors (in the bumper) shorting out. MB mechanics couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was but replaced the sensors and the wiring harness, which fixed the problem (at a cost of $2600).

I have a 2010 ML350 and the speed sensors on these suckers have been a continuous nightmare for me! It first started when the car only had 17k miles. The car is now almost 10 years old and I have replaced speed sensors TEN TIMES on this same vehical. 3 times it has gone into Limp Mode and I had to be towed. My best advice to you is. Go on Amazon and buy these speed sensors there...you can buy 4..2 front and 2 rear for under 40 bucks total!! Go to a local dealership like Chevy or Ford and let them replace them for you...WAY CHEAPER than taking it back to MB to repair. There HAS to be something faulty in their speed senors. I also have a 2015 SLK 250 Roadster and started having the exact same issue with it. It started when the car had less than 9000K miles on it...that's NINE Thousand Miles...ridiculous! They said..."you must live on a dirt road... NOPE I live right off a highway!" I have been driving MB since I was in my early 20's...I'm now 67...I will NEVER buy another MB... They're not made like they used to be.. SAD.
