My car has a locking system that can be operated with an exterior button on the front door handles as long as a key fob is close at hand. It stopped working.

Question type: General

Typically I can open the driver and passenger door and rear door without
using a key fob.  The fob only has to be in a pocket or purse and near the
door.  The front doors have an exterior button to lock and unlock them. It
stopped working.  I now have to use the fob and manually press open or
lock to operate the locks.  Do you know how to fix it and bring back the
hands/fob free system?
