mph needle bounces dont think its battery cables at all...when put in reverse car sputters somewhat! if anyone has any idea why this would happen please please post...i keep hearing tcm/pcm from other people but still unsure????

Gets the engine trouble codes read at the parts store. Any stored codes can give you a clue to what's happening. Write down the code numbers. Post the numbers here. Someone can advise based on what's happening.

That speedometer needle bouncing could be the gauge or the transmission sending unit. Worry about the sputtering first.
