2008 Chevy Malibu Won'the start

Asked by Oct 06, 2016 at 09:23 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I got gas the other day. The next morning my
car was sputtering when I started it and died. It
started right up still sputtering was able to get
going and after a couple miles down the road
drove fine. I thought it might have been water in
the tank. I used some heat and problem persisted
even after I put 11 gallons of new gas into it. By the
way was getting about 20 mpg. Then went to start
it yesterday it wouldn't start. I checked fuel
pressure it was 58 psi. So not a fuel pump. I
replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor no luck.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the octane might still be too low, add some booster preferably Octane 104 to the fuel that is in the tank now and see if that helps clear it up, after that I would recommend that you next fill up be either Chevron or Texaco fuel to help clean out the build up that might be left behind in the fuel system and injectors.
