Why is my ABS light on

Usually an ABS wheel sensor is faulty or the ABS module itself. Since the light is on you can take the Chevy to a mechanic who can use his equipment to pull the codes to see what exactly is causing the light to come on and swap out the defective part. FYI: Since the ABS light is on, the ABD system is disabled, so if you needed to stop short or use the brakes in an emergency the system will not work as intended, so you will need to pump the brakes to stop quickly if sliding.
