Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I have a 2008 Audi 2.0 Turbo Convertible,  Black exterior and black leather interior with 50,000 miles Good/Fair condition.  What would you say price should be?.  Blue-book says in average condition price $18,000 a BMW dealership told me only $12,000 as a trade-in.  Thank you for your thoughts on pricing.

Alright, I looked a coupe different guides, and I came up with $17K for trade in #. That being said the trade in cost would be closer to $15K. The BMW dealer is doing what all dealers want to do when you want to trade in a car, they want to steal it from you, or give you black book value. Because they don't know what is wrong with it, and will probably have to recondition it before selling or they will auction it. So it's all about them making money. Most top line dealers make $3-$4K on used cars. Since they will probably list your car for $20k on the lot and sell for around $18K. That $12K number is low and probably their first number. Bargain more and stick to your price. Good Luck!
