seems car wont go into gear

Just bought a 2008 dodge caliber  sxt.  .
  Bring it home drove nice, next day pull out of driveway won't drive down street , like it wouldn't go
into gear,  dealer looked at said it was fine,  then it happened again!  Feels like its downshifting, not
sure,  is it the CVT or what?

It's not fine like the dealer said. Go back to the dealer and get it repaired.

Ditto. It's guys like him give car salesmen a bad reputation. Throw a fit if you have to right there in the lot. He ripped you off, knowing full well it was problematic and next he will pull out paperwork about no warranty. Do NOT pay him a dime for repair and scream and yell 'till the cops come if thats what it takes, and put an ad in Angies List about his dumb ass
