2008 Chev hhr engine light is on.

I check the gas cap and even bought a FIXd. It keep tell me the Cylinder 1
misfire Detected. Mechanic say i need a new engine, but I think it something
simple than That e.g Fuel injector. hELP

Misfire can be a number if things, bad plug, ignition coil, wiring and the list goes on. Also basic engine problems like valves, rings, pistons and cylinder heads. Test engine compression both dry and wet and see if it shows any weakness in the engine itself.

try some injector cleaner it can't hurt . What do the plugs look like ?
