My Impala runs ok when i get the battery but if i leave it off for long periods of time the battery dies or it wont start. what is wrong with it?
My 2008 Chevy Impala's battery keeps dying. I went and got the battery tested and its good. they checked the alternator and thats good. and if i get the battery jumped the carworks just fine for a few start ups. but if i leave it off for long periods of time the battery dies or it wont start. what is wrong with it? someone please tell me.
you have something drawing the battery down need measure amperage draw on battery do u have a multimeter? if ur inclined to look at it further if not take it to dealer
When you say "a long time" do you mean a few days? Or a few weeks or longer? If your battery is dying after only sitting a week or even two weeks something is draining it. But if you regularly leave the car sit for weeks (more than 2) at a time this is considered normal & you need to disconnect the negative (-) battery cable when you park it. HTH. -Jim
