Transmission filters

Were in the hell is my filter located I have a 08 mercury
sable and there is no pan under it im jist so confused I
already bought the filter

I believe the filter on this transmission is actually located on the back side of the transmission. Do a google search for 2008 Mercury Sable Transmission and look at the images that populate. If I'm looking at the pic correctly, the filter is on the opposite end of the bell housing that mates to the engine block.

The Transmission filter is only changed when the transmission is rebuilt and not a serviceable part. You only need to perform a drain and fill on these transmissions every 15 to 30K miles.
