do i need another transmission

i have a 2002 mercury sable premium ls. i just recently start having problems with the
transmission fluid leaking out. now i have several metal pieces falling from under the
car and all the transmission fluid comes running out. there's a loud sound like there
are metal pieces grinding between the gears when i shift gears it do not actually drive
but the car will slightly move forward or backwards if you put your foot on the gas.
when i bought it there was a rebuilt transmission and the pieces that fell looks like
they came from something that was holding all the fluid in. now if you try to move it or
shift gears you hear loud grinding noises like there are still pieces left in there

Well this one is simple, the trans is all done and without seeing it in person those pieces look like parts of the case. You'll be paying a hefty core charge on top of the rebuild cost, OUCH!
