theres a light on my dashboard that is on no matter what

on my dashboard theres a red rectangular light with stripes in the middle. it doesn't come off. what does it mean or what do I do to get rid of it

check your owners manual. itt will tell u what it is. sounds like a mai.tenance reminder. you can unhook battery neg. cable for 15 min. go to autozone and have them reset computer or theres a way to do it from.drivers seat just like your oil. change reminder. google it

Good answer from "cow" Autozone will usually test check engine lights for free to get a code, which will then point to the general problem. Always check battery connections and battery voltage to make sure battery is fully charged.
