MIL is on and is a ghost code ? what the hell?
check engine light is on and there is no code ? this is all to confusing? all harness and plugs all intact and still it dosent read anything as if there is a short behind the light itself triggering the bulb , but again that isnt it either i dont know does anyone have any thoughts?
Either you left you short wire in to get the codes and attempted to start car or the ECM needs to be reset. ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) RESET PROCEDURE Turn the ignition switch off. Remove the BACK UP (7.5A) fuse from the under-hood fuse/relay box for 10 seconds to reset the ECM. Start car making sure your short wire for code extraction is REMOVED. See if light is on or off. If off yer all set. If On then install you short wire to access trouble codes. If will flash the check engine light in 2 digit numbers - the 2 digit numbers will attribute its fault code. NOTE: If the SCS short connector is connected and there are no DTCs stored in the ECM, the MIL will stay on.
