I have 2007 ford explorer v6 Eddie Bauer we had some overheating issues which we fixed. Now the engine temp is fine, motor runs great but after driving for about 15 minutes transmission stops working.
Sounds like either a TCM problem or the solenoids are sticking after they warm up, common problem with the solenoids after they get some age on them. A good scanner can show you the problem using the live data mode and backed up with transmission codes, or a good tranny shop for further diagnostics.
Hey thanx was wondering about tranny cooling radiator maybe plugged?
Usually it takes longer than 15 minutes to overheat a tranny unless your towing. but if your considering adding a tranny cooler bypass the radiator cooler completely.
