my 1994 explorer starts great when cold but after driving a while and then stopping for about 30 minutes when I start the engine it idles rough for about a minute then the idle is smooth again after driving again. What can I do to diagnose this problem?

Remove your throttle body and thoroughly clean it with throttle body cleaner. Replace your Idle Air Control valve.
