My 2007 Colbalt engine just died.

My car engine just died, Manuel speed trans.  Think I might have ran it out of gas.  I replaced gas and was told to turn the ignition on 3x for 30 seconds each shut it off then try the starter.  I had no luck any ideas.  Still got plenty of power cause I just put a new battery in it in the spring.  Guessing fuel pump or some sensor went out.
