GMC transmission

Asked by GuruYKG64 Mar 20, 2018 at 09:01 PM about the 2007 GMC Sierra Classic 1500 4 Dr SL Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck acts like it’s in neutral when starting
in drive or 3rd (just revs). Reverse, 1st, and
2nd work. If I start in first, shift to 2nd, I
can shift into 3rd, then overdrive.

Probably shouldn’t have used the word “starting.” I mean accelerating, truck doesn’t move while in drive or 3rd. I have to down shift to 1st or 2nd to get the truck moving, then when going fast enough I can shift to 3rd then drive. I think the safety neutral switch is working, truck won’t start in gear.
